Best of luck to all that participate in the giveaway.

The  Dark Angels series is an urban fantasy series, written by Keri Arthur, author of the New York Times bestselling Riley Jenson Guardian series.   Let’s not even get started on that series, this post could take up to a day to write, if I let myself get carried away.  Keri lives in  Melbourne (Australia) where she writes strong kickass heroines that get in your head and decide to hangout for a while.

Keri Arthur
 New York Times Bestselling Author
This series takes readers to Australia, where a variety of creatures loom.  Dark Angels is a stand alone series, but was born from the Riley Jenson Guardian series.  If readers have read the Jenson series, you will be delighted with the small cameos of our favorites from that series in this new saga.  If you have never had the pleasure, no worries.  Arthur artistically parts the curtains, allowing readers a small glimpse into the past, a past that has helped mold this new story.
The Dark Angels’ heroine’s name is Risa Jones.  She is unique, and not human.  Her powers are a mysterious combination of preeminent abilities she has inherited from her mother and father.   She can  speak to the souls of the dying and the dead, but even more extraordinary is that she can see the reapers that come to fetch them.   In addition, Risa can walk the fine path that divides this world and the afterlife.  As the series progresses Risa is learning more about her gifts, they will become everything if she wants to live.
Now, on to our delicious male characters.  I’d like to believe that I know who Risa will choose, I have my favorite of the two sexy alpha males found in this story, and hope my heart won’t be broken in the end.  Our first male alpha is our reaper, Azriel.  Oh, such a specimen Arthur has placed before us.  Azriel appears to Risa shirtless with a sword strapped to his back.  He has strange mismatched eyes of untold hues of blue.  He is a warrior, tall, dark, and handsome, surrounded in mystery.  He allows Risa to see only what he wants her to see.   Our second alpha male is,  Lucian.  He is the light to Azriel’s dark, blond, so handsome it hurts to look at him.  Oh but, there is nothing pure and lily white about Lucian.  He has secrets, some of which I can only imagine.  Lucian is Aedh  who had his wings ripped from his body.  He now seeks revenge against those who maimed him.  Who those people are, we have no idea, but they are events taking place that readers have not been shown, clues we seem not to catch.  I can’t wait to learn the truth behind, Lucian.   The two alpha males hate each other with a verbose passion.  Anytime the two are in the same room the tension is palpable.
Risa has become somewhat of an item with Lucian, but her mind wanders to another brooding male.  What will become of these three can only be unlocked in future books, but I’m hoping she picks, Azriel.
Each book in the series unlocks more and more of Risa’s powers.  What to some may appear as a week heroine, is in fact a woman coming into her own.  A woman that has never fully embraced her powers, preferring to work alongside her best friends at their restaurant.  Yet, now her life has taken a different path, one where she will have to learn quickly or die. In each book Risa learns something about herself, she faces death and comes out stronger.  Risa will have to succumb to the dictating ways of Madeline Hunter or risk losing those she loves and her life.  There is no way she can avoid  the situation.
The interesting characters are only part of the reasons you should be reading the series.  You will find super natural swords that are actually demons trapped.  You will learn of deadly new creatures that  steal souls.  You will learn of keys that have the ability to open the heavens. You will learn of witches and spells, vamps and dark beings.  Arthur brings us our favorites with a twist and something new in each book. The covers of the books are amazing, too.

Go out and buy the books today, you won’t be disappointed if you enjoy urban fantasy.

My 5 Star Review of

Half-werewolf, half-Aedh Risa Jones can enter the realm between life and death, and she can see the Reapers who collect the souls of the dead. Now, she is using her gifts—and the investigative know-how of a man who broke her heart—to find a cabal searching for the power to control time, reality, and fate. And this is besides her work for the Vampire Council, half of whom want her dead.

But for now the Council needs her alive. Someone is killing blood-whore addicted vampires, and Risa must find the guilty party. If she succeeds, she may finally convince the council to lift the execution order on her life. But before she succeeds, she must first survive…

Darkness Devours by Keri Arthur walks the line between good and evil! Risa finds herself having to prove herself once again to Madeline Hunter or face death. This time Madeline wants her to find a killer. Risa will have to delve deeper to find the warrior within.  As the investigation into the unsolved murders brings Risa and Azriel closer together, the emotions Risa has kept denying, have become unlocked, spilling forth her desire for the dark and handsome, Azriel.   As the horrors of evil unleash a killer, Risa will learn just how strong she is, the very fabric of her being will be changed by the events in Darkness Devours. True to Keri Arthur fashion, Darkness Devours will have you by the seat of you pants, waiting for the next creature to appear before you, and carry you to it's lair.

  1. It really depends on my mood and if it's done tastefully. I don't like it when the whole books is the heroine whining, poor me, why must I choose. Thanks for the awesome giveaway and Congrats on your blog! I am the first to join via GFC!

  2. I agree with Red. If it's done well, then I do usually like the storyline. Who wouldn't want to have to choose between two Alphas? ;-) Fantastic Giveaway! Keri is an amazing author and can't wait to read this new series. Great job on the blog Viviana.

  3. I don't like the love triangle thing. No matter who the heroine chooses, someone will get crushed. Now, if it was a menage and the heroine was shared between the two alphas...mama likes :)
Thanks for the chance to win!
    I'm the second GFC follower!

  5. Some times. It really depends on the story line. Some times it doesn't make sense. Thank you.

  6. I think love triangles are best when the "third wheel" realizes they are not good for the person and bows out. Congratulations on the new blog. I am a new follower.

  7. Really great site! I like triangles depending on the characters but if both male alphas are great guys then not so much.

  8. I actually hate love triangles. I know in some stories it's necessary but if I had to choose I wouldn't have one at all. Thanks for the giveaway!

  12. I do love it when there is a choice. It helps build the story and the characters and builds up to the heroine making the right choice. :)

    Thanks
