Viviana's Review:
"Lord of Rage" is the second book in the Royal House of Shadows series. This is the first time I've read anything by Jill Monroe and I will say that it will not be the last. I enjoyed her writing style significantly and the story flowed nicely!
Breena is your typical princess (sheltered all her life, schooled and groomed to be a Queen, etc.) but longs to be independent and to be with the man she's been dreaming about. She isn't a meek princess though. She hold her own and stands up for what she believes in.
This series have the bases of fairy tales. and "Lord of Rage" is based on 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears'. Our hero, Osborn is a descendant of a long line of the Bear Spirit Tribe. He's raising his younger brothers and trying to keep their old ways alive but keep them safe.
The characters grow throughout the story as well as the relationship between the heroine and the hero. I liked the pace in which their relationship developed but thought it slowed the pace of the overall story.
The only issue I had is with the timeline, it was conflicting with that of the first book (and then again in bks 3 & 4).
Over all, a good read!
Rating: 2.5 Stars - I liked It
