Ahh Valentine's Day!! Many will groan and stick out your tongue in disgust or say, "Shouldn't he/she show me they love me every day?" Well, yes! Is it a "Hallmark" Holiday? Perhaps. However, its totally up to you what Valentine's signifies and how you go about celebrating it!!
Steph at Fangs, Wands and Fairy Dust and Dana at Readaholics Anonymous created the Fools For Luv event and site allowing the participating bloggers and authors to express themselves in their own way. The event has two parts: 1. Guest Posts from authors and some bloggers with an overall giveaway with multiple prize packages and 2. a Blog Hop with individual blogs and giveaways.
So, want to know what I think about Valentine's Day? Its the thought! Its also how you think what romance is. Personally, not only is it sexy as hell when my hubby does the dishes WITHOUT me having to ask but for me that's a small "I love you" as well. Or when he vacuums (there's sexy again!) again WITHOUT me having to ask or request! Listen, when you're married or been with someone for a long time, "sexy" brings on a new definition! LOL! And so does Romance! I don't need fancy dinners or roses or expensive gifts. Taking me out for Ice Cream at our local and my favorite ice cream place and then taking me to a book store is sweet and romantic! He's making it about me. What I like! What I enjoy to do! He's giving me the space and ability to be ME!
Speaking of Gifts and Bookaholics, I believe this is the perfect timing to start a new series I've been thinking about as I get this question a lot! What do you get a Bookaholic as a gift? Well, the obvious answer would be a gift card. However, some feel that those can be a tad cold or lacking thought. Trust me, gift cards are AWESOME for us bookaholics! Just find out what eReader (Kindle = Amazon or Nook = B&N) we give the correct gift card. NOT that we would complain as we can always purchase books (like real books in paperback) from either vendor. IF they are like me, I have an iPad and have ALL of the eReader Apps, so I'm set. So this new series (which I'm still debating on the frequency) will be about gifts you can give to your bookaholic friend/family member!
I already mentioned Gift Cards so lets have a givaway with one!!

ReplyDeleteI always laugh when my hubby says "What do you want for ____ (insert holiday)?" Really, after 15 years, you should know B&N gift card!

The sexiest thing EVER in ANY man is watching them with small kids! Such a turn on...any guy who is good to kids, must be a good decent man.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you...I find my hubby sexy when he does dishes, laundry or cleaning. It's even sexy when we get a few brief kid free moments and he takes those times to tell me how much he adores me still. Sometimes when we're watching a moving he will reach over and grab my foot and start rubbing them (like its a normal reflex). It's the little things I find beyond sexy!
ReplyDeleteThank you. :)
ReplyDeleteI think it's a great giveaway, that's what I think :) Thank you very much!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway. I love it when I get home from work and the hubby has had the day off (we try to work opposite days for daycare reasons) and he has dinner ready and waiting.

We don't celebrate Valentine's Day, because it's not a "real" holiday, it's a manufactured holiday, based on guilt. That said, the best VD gift is the pleasure of my hubby's company.
ReplyDeleteGift cards are the PERFECT gift. They're ALWAYS the right size.

ReplyDeleteI totally agree w/you! I've been w/hubby for 14 yrs. I don't care for flowers, jewelry etc. Give me a gift card or helping around the house will satisfy me. Last V day he surprised me w/a Kindle Fire and I was all set for the whole year! Happy Valentine's Day, thanks for being part of the hop.

I like Valentine's day. I don't go all out but it's sweet to get chocolate, candy or books. :P
ReplyDeletealyssaxchen14 AT gmail DOT com
We celebrate Valentine's Day on the 15th. That way I get twice as much candy for a fraction of the cost ... and the restaurants aren't full.

As I don't have a significant other, I don't have happy feelings about Valentine's Day.

I think Valentine's day is best with someone you love.
ReplyDeleteI dont really care one way or another about valentines. I'd rather be surprised and have random acts then just one day dedicated to it.
ReplyDeleteFor bibliophiles, nothing means more than a gift card to their favorite bookstore. Getting one means that I get to go browse, read, ponder and decide which book fits my current mood.
ReplyDeleteI love gift cards :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the awesome giveaway!

Gift Cards are definitely my faves. But also eReader covers, book marks, book lights, bookish jewelry, book shelves, etc are all great too :) I have both Kindle & Nook (Kindle is my fave, probably because I have had it & used it longer). But I also love gc from publishers and other book sites like ARe.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway.
