By Amy Daws
Narrated by Erin Mallon & Aaron Shedlock with mult-cast performed by Will Watt & Charlotte Cole
Blurb:
Allie Harris wants payback.
Her cheating ex deserves to see her living her best life; a one-night-stand with a hot South African soccer player would be the perfect revenge. Right?
Wrong. Allie is so, so wrong.
Roan Dewalt has all the moves.
On and off the field he's at the top of his game. Roan respects hard work, dedication, and follow through. He's not a one-and-done kind of man, and he's far from being done with Allie Harris.
One sexy night and two years later, Allie's job brings her back to town. An opportunity for the perfect replay Roan has been fantasizing about since they slept together.
The problem?
Allie Harris has a secret, one she's been keeping from Roan all this time. Video proof of their one night together taken without his consent.
Will Allie's payback plan come back to bite them both? Or can she erase her past mistake and embrace a new future with Roan?

Viviana's Review:
Sooo I'm a huge fan of Amy Daws the person! I have liked/loved her books, however, this one was meh. I'd even go as far as saying it would have been either a DNF (do not finish) or one that I would have skipped through if I had read the book vs listen to it. Thankfully, I picked up the audio! The narrators performance was why I kept listening if I may be 100% honest.
The biggest issue (well there was really just the one) I had with the story was the repetitive narrative of Allie's secret and her 'struggles' with it. Here is the thing, we already KNOW what the secret is thanks to the blurb. Which we then can either figure out what could possibly be the Hero's & Heroine's "dark moment" (what is the cause of them not being able to be together). What we don't know are the details of the "how" it occurs nor how the Hero & Heroine end up with their HEA. So it is a bit predictable. However, as the saying goes, its the journey, not the destination that counts, right?
Now back to Allie's secret... Is it a big deal? Yes but only because she decided to keep it and not say anything about it once things got as far as they did in her relationship with Roan. If she would have just come clean about it, all could have been avoided. Instead we get over kill with Allie's internal monologue of the video, how she shouldn't have done it, how it was such a 'bad idea' and how she needs to delete it (and never does until its too late) and on and on. I honestly don't believe there was a need to be that repetitive. Its not like we were going to forget what is hanging over them from chapter 3 to when we get to chapter 15 nor to chapter 18 so and so on. It seemed a bit much and felt almost like a filler. Could this have been a great novella minus the repetitive narrative, absolutely! Same if it was a full novel.
Okay so enough about that. If you love THE HARRIS BROTHERS series, you're going to really enjoy PAYBACK as it brings the whole family together! We get A LOT of scenes with them and get to see where they are since we last saw them! The bantering between brothers, Vi's ability to get the group to work together, the craziness that are the twins!! I mean we get a bit of it all! IF you hadn't read the THE HARRIS BROTHERS series, you're going to end up picking up those books after listening to this one.
Roan was great! Truly a fantastic hero! LOVED him!! He has it all! He is a mix of sweet, funny, responsible, alpha male, great friend and sexy as hell! Could not find any faults with Roan.
Allie.... I struggled with her a bit. Besides the repetitive narrative, there were times when she was across as a strong women and other times where she couldn't make up her mind. However, I know we grow and learn as we experience life.
Narrators:
OMG did I mention the narrators were the best part of this book? I loved the fact that Amy decided to do a multi-cast with this title. More so that it was done in duet style! Woohoo!
First, both Will Watt & Charlotte Cole reprising their previous characters was great not only because they are great performers but also great for consistency purposes. Erin has narrated for Amy before in a different series and is a wonderful narrator! Now Aaron... he's new to me and OMG I'm totally going to check out his catalog of audiobooks!
Overall, it was an okay story! I love the family dynamic and each of the Harris brothers' personalities! Oh how I hope Mac gets his own book!! I honestly think it had potential to be a great story if it wasn't for the thing I mentioned earlier. That one thing was enough to make it a 2 Star review however, the narrators did such a fantastic job that it bumped it up to 3 Stars.
Rating: 3 Stars - it was okay
