With The Audie Awards just around the corner, all these tensions are higher than ever. But you know who’s feeling just fine?

A full cast of experienced narrators frolics in Mallon's hilarious meta play about romance audiobooks. Andi Arndt voices frustrated wife Vera, whose secret obsession is a narrator, read by Joe Arden, whose magical performances have earned him the nickname "the Narwhal." Shane East portrays her confused yet adorable husband, Cameron, whose interactions with a romance writer, read by an unabashedly sexy sounding Tanya Eby, change his perspective. Other scenes in the play feature Emma Wilder portraying a virgin audiobook narrator's first meeting with the Narwhal and a yearning studio engineer, played by Teddy Hamilton. Awkward repartee boosts the humor, aided by the audio play format's fresh approach. This audiobook will especially tickle dedicated listeners, who will appreciate the inside jokes and references to romance tropes.
